"The ultimate aim
of karate lies not in victory nor defeat, but in the perfection
of the character of its participants."- Master Gichin Funakoshi
Corvallis Karate School teaches
a style of karate called Shotokan.
Shotokan is based on the premise "ikken hisatsu",
or a single blow must decide all.
How do we train ?
A typical class usually starts with total body warm-up exercise
for about 10-15 minutes. It continues with basic
exercise. Then, we have drills which specialize in specific
techniques or parts of the body. Sometimes, we also have sparring
and kata.
